1. Information we handle

• Player and account data: Discord user ID, Minecraft username and UUID, linked account status, avatar or render URL, region, current and previous tiers, retirement status, test results, and relevant timestamps.
• Information you provide: messages, appeals, reports, event entries, support requests, and any other information you choose to send through our Discord servers or forms.
• Technical and network data: we and our hosting or security providers may process IP address, browser and device details, request times, visited pages, and security logs when you access the website or Services.

2. How we use information

• Operate player verification, testing, rankings, profiles, events, and support.
• Keep results accurate and investigate cheating, fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
• Use IP addresses and related security data to detect linked or alternate accounts, prevent ban evasion, and protect the integrity of our rankings and community.
• Moderate the community, enforce our rules, and respond to appeals or questions.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect users, staff, and NovaTiers.

3. Public ranking information

NovaTiers is a public ranking service. Your Minecraft username, avatar, region, tiers, scores, rank, and related competitive history may be publicly displayed. Technical identifiers such as a Minecraft UUID or Discord user ID may be stored to connect and maintain records, even when they are not visibly shown on a profile.

If you ask us to remove information, we will assess the request against our legitimate needs to preserve ranking integrity, enforce bans, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

4. Cookies and local storage

NovaTiers does not currently use advertising cookies or its own analytics cookies. Essential infrastructure providers may still use technical storage or process request data needed to deliver and secure the website. If we introduce non-essential analytics or similar tracking, we will update this Policy and provide any choices required by law.

5. When information is shared

We may share information with trusted service providers that host, secure, render, or support the Services; with NovaTiers staff who need it for moderation or operations; when you direct us to share it; or when required to comply with law, protect safety, or defend rights. Public ranking information is available to anyone who visits the site.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Third-party platforms

Discord, Minecraft/Mojang/Microsoft, and linked websites process information under their own privacy policies. We do not control those services. Avoid posting sensitive personal information in public channels or support requests.

7. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for rankings, community safety, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance. This includes IP addresses and related security records used for alternate-account detection, abuse prevention, and ban enforcement. Some competitive history or moderation records may be kept after you stop participating to prevent abuse and preserve result integrity.

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee perfect security.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may apply.

9. Children’s privacy

The Services are not intended for anyone below the minimum age required for the online platforms they use. If you believe a child provided personal information in violation of applicable requirements, please contact us so we can review it.

10. International processing and changes

Because NovaTiers and its providers operate online, information may be processed in countries other than your own. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. We may update this Policy as the Services change and will post the revised effective date here.
